Glenn Underground – My Little Ebony

Glenn Underground has been in the game for a long time. Born in 1971, he was brought up in Chicago on the finest jazz, soul and disco music while witnessing the birth of Chicago House.Influenced by some of the original Chicago greats like Ron Hardy and Lil’ Louis he released his first record on Dance Mania in 1992 putting his own swing on the Chicago sound. Since then he has become a stalwart in the Chicago House scene. His latest release; from his own imprint Strictly Jazz Music US which he launched in 2002,  is one of his best. ‘Black Ressurection’ is a jazz laden beaut’.

My favourite track is the first on the B-Side. A track named ‘My Little Ebony’. It’s intro of broken drum beats and African chanting really sets up this groovy little number.
